The exhibits in the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development® (MCSSCD) provide opportunities for the athletic and academic communities to progress on their spiritual journeys with a sense of awareness, appreciation, and wholeness often lacking in sports.
Five pillars erected in the Bayada Atrium display the values of Play, Beauty, Reflection, Balance, and Respect that guide the content and are grounded in Neumann’s Catholic Franciscan identity. The exhibits explore the connection between sport and spirituality, and widen the understanding of sport to include personal reflection on the relationship between the body, mind and spirit. In order to share this experience beyond the walls of the MCSSCD, the Institute for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development has brought the pillars online.
